Jerry Garner, Your Neighborhood Realtor embarked on his real estate career over a decade ago when he became more & more discouraged and disheartened by the corporate world. Jerry shared, "When I was younger the general business model was 'build a good product, provide great customer service, build business for the future'. I saw that model change over to, 'cut corners, cut labor, make money today because you might not be around tomorrow!' I just couldn't adjust to that mold…"
Jerry Garner added, "I had always thought I might dabble in real estate when I retired, but as it got harder and harder to be in the corporate environment, I thought, what am I waiting for?" Jerry Garner began taking night classes at a local community college, attending seminars and training workshops, and began devouring everything about the real estate market he could. He began seeking out people who were not only successful but were doing it in a way Jerry could live with; legally, ethically & morally. He would meet with them for lunch or coffee and find out what they were doing, how they built their businesses and how they were servicing their clients. Since a home sale or purchase is such a huge and scary financial move for most people, it was very important to Jerry Garner that he equips himself to protect his clients and their money, advise them in a way that truly put their best interests at heart, and simplify and demystify the overwhelming process for them.
After obtaining his real estate license and interviewing brokers to find the best fit for him and what he felt his business model was, Jerry Garner opened the doors to his new career….in 2008…nearly at the bottom of the market crash! Friends and family members expressed concern and encouraged him to wait until the market had recovered but Jerry had a different approach. Mr. Garner felt that "anyone could sell real estate in an upmarket, but it took someone who was doing all the right things all the time to be successful in a down market." So, Jerry forged ahead…
It's been twelve years and Jerry has never looked back. He shared, "It has not always been easy, but it has always been rewarding." Jerry's wife Kellie has been his full-time assistant for almost ten years now. Together they have built a successful real estate business and are well-known and respected in the community. Jerry trains new agents, walking them step-by-step through their first five transactions. The Garners are heavily involved in their church, two Chambers of Commerce and various volunteer efforts. Jerry & Kellie, both together & separately, have been named Ambassadors of The Year and Volunteers of The Year on various occasions. You will often find them out serving their community at local and nearby city events. They share 3 adult children and 2 grandchildren…" and counting…", as Kellie says. Their oldest daughter recently became a real estate agent in the Phoenix area and is hoping to carry on the family's success in the business!
